The Beauty of You

Far too often, we believe that we must be extraordinary in order to be loved and respected.  There are those who sincerely believe that they must accomplish something great before they are able to be the truest version of themselves.  For far too long, I was one of those people.  I was always in search of the “the next level.”  I have been through so many levels, and I am not certain if I have truly enjoyed any of them.  No matter where I landed, I never seemed to be satisfied.  Why?  My answer is simple; I always based my idea of success on the ideas and beliefs of others.  No more.  To me, success is enjoying what you do on most days.  The truth of the matter is that you need a little struggle and pain in anything that you do.  I have always believed that struggle and pain begets growth.  However, I don’t believe that there should be more struggle and pain than happiness.  We were all born to be something wonderful.  It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.  Today, my message is short, yet very important.  Look inside of yourself and find that something that you love to do.  Look inside yourself and find the real you.  Clothing, cars, homes, money, education, careers, social affiliations, political opinions, or status don’t determine your worth, for only you can do that.  Don’t chase the wind, enjoy the breeze and know that no matter what, you can be more than okay if you choose.  You can be exceptional.  Find what you love, do what you love, love what you do, and understand that you are enough.  You are enough.  YOU are enough.  Life is wonderful if we perceive it to be.  If we can change our perception, we can change our reality.  Find your love, share your love with the world, and watch the world change as a result of your love.  I wish I had more, but this is what I have been telling myself for the longest time.  I am currently under construction, and the best is yet to come.  Patrick

This week, as always, do something for someone other than yourself for no reason at all other than to make their lives better.  Lastly, if you make it to where you want to go, please don’t forget to leave a map for the rest of us.  Be happy, work on wholeness, and most of all, be you, for there is no one else on this planet quite like you.
